Industry Experience & Building Trade Skills:
I have experience as a carpenter in new home construction and remodeling. Hiring an inspector that not only has the required professional training and certification but one that has hands-on trade skills building and repairing houses in invaluable.
I am passionate about what I do. Beginning at the age of 12 during summers and on weekends I cleaned up new home construction job sites. I graduated from high school one year early in order to apprentice as carpenter for well-known Auburn homebuilder Jay Jennings before later joining the Army National Guard and attending Auburn University. As I gained more carpentry skills throughout my teen years I would help with repair and remodeling of older homes. While attending college I worked as an engineering technician and assisted with performing Phase I environmental site assessments at industrial sites throughout the Southeast. I performed sampling and field analysis of wastewater, air emissions, soils and groundwater. After finishing my undergraduate degree at Auburn I worked in project administration and accounting for construction and engineering firms in Atlanta, Georgia, Boulder, Colorado and Birmingham, Alabama.
I have experience in real estate appraisal and mortgage lending and have completed over 100 hours of professional education in real estate investment analysis. From 2003 to 2007 I worked for real estate lending divisions of BB&T Bank and performed inspection and appraisal of industrial, multi-family, office and retail properties and assisted both borrowers and lenders in obtaining new construction financing as well as mortgage loans.
